Yalda Uhls

Yalda Uhls, MBA, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized, award-winning researcher, educator, author, and former Sony and MGM movie executive studying how media affects young people. She founded UCLA’s Center for Scholars & Storytellers (CSS), which collaborates with leading scientists to provide research-based insights for content creators crafting authentic and inclusive stories. She teaches a class at UCLA on Digital Media and Human Development and is the author of the parenting book Media Moms & Digital Dads: A Fact Not Fear Approach to Parenting in the Digital Age. Uhls’s expertise in how media content is created, as well as the science of how media affects children, informs her unique perspective.
